Wholehearted Women of Faith

Support the women in your congregation by taking time to remember that we don't have to be perfect . . .  even when the messages in our heads and in the culture may tell us otherwise.  We will focus on making the connections between Dr. Brené Brown’s research on living authentically as found in her 10 guideposts for ‘wholehearted living’ and faith.  Why does it matter to God if we cultivate laughter, song, and dance?  How does this become a fuller expression of God's grace in our lives?  Where does this connect for us biblically?  The research says that cultivating self-compassion helps us live more authentically - we will explore how this fulfills the 2nd Greatest Commandment to "love others as yourself."  There will be lots of laughter, connection and a-ha's.

Daring Women of Faith

Do you and the other women in your ministry want to show up - really show up in who God created and gifted you to be?  We will focus on clarifying our values as living in our baptisms, understanding vulnerability as courage, naming what arenas God is calling us into and what keeps us out, and how do we armor up to true connection.   Explore the practice of empathy and self-compassion as application of the 2nd Greatest Commandment.   Participants leave with daily practices. of permission  slips, naming their arenas, and their faith mantra.  Daring Women of Faith is based on the Daring Way,™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown.  The method was developed to help men, women, and adolescents learn how to show up, be seen, and live braver lives.  The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing a courage practice that transforms the way we live, love, parent, and lead.  Using the metaphor of an arena, we explore the role of empathy and self-compassion, the power of discerning who has earned our trust, distilling our core values, and navigating through shame storms with more authenticity.

The Daring Way™ curriculum can be experienced before or after the Rising Strong™ curriculum. Come ready to learn, laugh, and take the next step in daring to be 'all-in' in life.

Rising Strong in Christ

If we show up in our lives often enough, we will fall and find ourselves hurting.  This retreat explores how our faith in Christ and Brené’s research and practices gives us the power to get back up and to write a brand new ending that helps us see how Christ works through our falls. . .  We will explore new ways of understanding II Cor. 12:8-10.  How are our thought patterns pulling us out of who we are in Christ?  We will explore how Jesus specializes in rising strong and what that means for those who follow Him.  Rising Strong™ is a 17 session curriculum digs deeper into the stories we create when we have falls, whether they are professional or personal.  Neurobiologically we are wired to create stories with a beginning, a middle, and an end and our brains reward us when we create an ending . . . even when the ending isn’t accurate or life-giving.

By developing the capacity to get curious, to reach out for support in sharing our stories, and to trust ourselves enough to rumble with new endings to well-worn patterns, we release the creative power within us to recognize the emotion we are feeling, to wrestle with the story behind it, and to integrate the whole of who we are - the messy, the struggling, the tenacious, the beautiful, the fully human and to rise believing, as Brené says, “no matter what, I am worthy of love and belonging.”

Dare to Lead™ for Faith Leaders

We have challenges and blessings that are unique to our call.  And balancing everything in ministry and beyond can at times feel overwhelming.  Based on the groundbreaking work of Dr. Brené Brown found in her Dare to Lead™ curriculum, this time will empower you to experience:

  • Understand and practice the four courage building components

  • Greater clarity around areas of core values related to authentic life and leadership

  • Critical awareness to cultural myths around vulnerability and how vulnerability is the path to connect to others, God, and ourselves

  • Increased capacity to understand conflictual situations and how to authentically show up

  • Learning and practicing healthy strategies to use when in debilitating shame

  • Daily practices to cultivate living and loving with our whole hearts

In this 2 day intensive, we will learn with and from each other, create sacred ground where our stories are honored and where you can explore how faith, Scripture, and ministry connect for you and practice new skills to empower you to lead with increased joy, authenticity, and purpose.  If you’ve attended a Rising Strong™ or Wholehearted Living event, this will contain new content and support what you’ve already explored.

The big daring dream God's put in Sarah's heart is to transform the church with this work.
